Set during a late-night diner date, the song follows a guy desperately trying to look smooth while practically everything around him goes wrong. Spilled sugar, flying ketchup, questionable dance moves and a Cadillac that does not even belong to him turn the evening into a small disaster — but apparently not enough of one to ruin the date.

Vintage male and female doo-wop harmonies, upright bass, piano, hollow-body guitar, handclaps and saxophone accents provide the retro foundation before the track switches into dusty boom-bap drums, deep bass and energetic rap sections.

Funny without turning into a novelty song, “One Milkshake, Two Straws” is ultimately a song about discovering that being perfect matters a lot less than finding someone who enjoys the chaos with you.
